The Pokemon Company has announced that the new Famitsu Cup will be held over Wi-Fi. A unique detail is that players are can use any Pokemon from the National Pokedex (except Legendary Pokemon/Event Pokemon*).
People with the Japanese versions of Pokemon Black and/or Pokemon White will be able to compete in the new Pokemon Global Link Famitsu cup. The tournament will be held from December 7 until December 11. You can register yourself from December 1 until December 6. But be quick, because only the first 30,000 will be allowed to enter! Every Pokemon from the National Pokedex (except for the Legendary/Event Pokemon*) is usable.
The battles will be single Flat Battles, which means that every Pokemon with a higher level than 50 will be reduced to level 50, but Pokemon with a level lower than 50 will not increase level.
*These Pokemon are excluded from play: Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Deoxys, Jirachi, Celebi, Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, Arceus, Victini, Reshiram, Zekrom, Kyurem, Keldeo, Meloetta, and Genesect.
