Pokkén Tournament has been mentioned quite a bit over the internet for a while, where people have been speculating it to be an upcoming Pokémon title for Wii U. Today during a special Monthly Famitsu feat stream, Pokkén Tournament was finally announced, revealed by the Pokémon Company president, Tsunekazu Ishihara.
Later today a trailer of the game (The one above) was released by the International Pokémon Company, hinting that this game could come to the west. Jump inside for more information and check out the awesome trailer above!
In partnership with the Pokémon Company and Bandai Namco, Pokkén Tournament is a fighting game being developed by Bandai Namco with producers of the Tekken and Soul caliber series. It is currently slated to be released 2015 in Japan as an arcade game, however it has been hinted that there will be a non-arcade release later on. So far not much is known about this game other than the fact that it’s a Tekken styled game using Pokémon, Specifically Fighting type Pokémon.
Judging by the trailer, it looks as though Lucario and Machamp are playable fighters and if you remember last year at the Pokémon Game show, they showed off a few seconds of this game with Lucario and Blaziken, Hinting that Blaziken is also a playable fighter.
Unfortunately there is not much information about this game so far. We have no idea if this is coming to the west or if it will see a release outside the arcade, but you can rest assured if it does see a non-arcade release, you can be sure that it will be coming to Nintendo Wii U.
