ORAS Is Here + Wailord-size Extras

ORASToday is a big day! ORAS is finally released, two special 2DS models are up for grabs, there are Shiny Beldums about, and Super Smash for the WiiU is here. Massive amount of additional information and pictures inside.

ORAS is finally upon us, I’m sure the best Pokefans have already pre-ordered their game copies. We’ve been reporting on ORAS for a long time now so there isn’t too much left to say other than to enjoy your journey back to Hoenn! We hope to have a walkthrough ready to go as soon as we can :)

Announced Nov. 11, 2014, Nintendo introduces Crystal Red and Crystal Blue Nintedo 2DS systems. Today, November 21st, these two new 2DS systems models will be at a suggested retail price of $99.99 each, $20.00 less than the MSRP of the regular 2DS models. November 28th, UK only, Omega Ruby will be bundled with ‘Transparent Red’, Alpha Sapphire will be bundled with ‘Transparent Blue.’ (The term “crystal” is used for the US 2DS and the term “transparent” is used for the UK 2DS).

The Crystal Red and Crystal Blue systems are launching alongside Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, the next great Pokémon adventures coming to retail stores, Nintendo.com and the Nintendo eShop at a suggested retail price of $39.99 each.

The Nintendo 2DS system plays all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D, is backward compatible with a huge library of Nintendo DS games and also offers the ability to download games from the Nintendo eShop. The system maintains many of the same hardware and connected features as Nintendo 3DS such as touch-screen controls, StreetPass, Miiverse and online multiplayer functionality. Without any hinges, Nintendo 2DS is an affordable, durable gaming system and offers a great entry point into the Nintendo hand-held experience.

Take a gander at these two new gorgeous systems:

Don’t forget to take down a SHINY BELDUM as you pick up your copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire! Shortly after the launch of these two games today, a special Shiny Beldum holding its Mega Stone will be available. If you raise this silver beauty right, it should then evolve into a Shiny Mega Metagross! Beldum is already super difficult to get so don’t miss out on this chance. This giveaway will be available via Nintendo Network from November 21, 2014, through next year January 14, 2015.

Helpful Hint: Because ORAS comes out today, mostly world-wide, Nintendo Network servers might be overloaded and may not run as well. If you plan on getting the game via eShop or downloading Beldum today, it might fail loading or load slowly; don’t worry just be patient, if it doesn’t load right away, come back later and try again.

  1. what the heck says:

Mewtwo was confirmed for spring of 2015 the moment it was announced for dlc

    • what the heck says:

also, for 8 player smash controller options:
      7 wii remotes 1 gamepad
      8 3ds’s
      7 pro controllers 1 gamepad
      8 gamecube controllers etc.
You can mix any of these controllers so it doesn’t have to be one specifc type everyone has to play with.

I hope there’s a ORAS walkthrough coming soon, could you guys upload the first few chapters if they are completed?

    • what the heck says:

I wish this place was as popular as ZD and there were more staff. That way all these walkthroughs that are incomplete or haven’t even been started would be finished by now. Everytime a new pokemon game is announced, someone would put a link to page of the walkthrough of the coming game. For some reason, there is nothing for ORAS at the top of the screen.

I bought the strategy guide :P

  3. Midnafan says:

WOOHOO! I got the Eon Ticket on only my 2nd time using streetpass for these games. Guess coming back to college after a 5 day break has its benefits. :P

    • Midnafan says:

Now that I have the Eon Ticket, I feel like Oprah walking around with Streetpass on and my 3DS in my pocket like “YOU get an Eon Ticket, YOU get an Eon Ticket, EVERYBODY gets an Eon Ticket!!!” I don’t know why anybody whined about this distribution method, it’s fun. :P
