AuGUST – Flying Pokémon Month

Olivia

Gligar_anime

Hey PD, Olivia here! It’s half way through August and I just realized this month is especially good for Flying-type Pokémon! The sun is out, there is a nice breeze, perfect weather for flight. Therefore this month should be dedicated to the marvelous Flying-Types of the Pokémon world! The month’s name, August, speaks for itself. As of now, Flying-type Pokémon make up a good chunk of the 18 types out there so far, making it the third most common type. There are 99 Flying-type Pokémon(counting all altered forms), which is almost how many Johto Pokémon there are in total (Johto has 100). Hit the jump for a Wailord-size post about Flying-type trivia and a pokéditorial!

Born to Lead #5 – Roxie

Cody

Welcome to “Born to Lead”, a weekly segment where I talk about one of the many Gym Leaders of the Pokemon world. We’ll be covering the bio, team, and pieces of random trivia that each leader has to offer across the main series games in which they were introduced.

This week, we’re finally heading up to Unova to cover what is somewhat a rarity in Pokemon – a Poison-type Gym Leader. Poison hasn’t always been the best type out there, but if anyone was going to give the Poison type a good name, it would have to be Roxie of Virbank City! Doubling as a bass-playing rockstar in her band, Roxie is among the most memorable gym leaders out there, and just might be my favorite of all time due to her awesome gym, and her rocking design and personality.

Welcome to “Born to Lead”, a weekly segment where I talk about one of the many Gym Leaders of the Pokemon world. We’ll be covering the bio, team, and pieces of random trivia that each leader has to offer across the main series games in which they were introduced.

This week, we’re going back to the beginning – the VERY first gym leader that fans who’ve been around since the original Red and Blue encountered. I’m talking, of course, about the hard-rocking Brock! The starting gym leader of Pewter City in Kanto has left quite an impression on a lot of players, and it’s time to delve into his simplistic battle that introduced us all to the concept of Pokemon Gyms. If you have any questions, comments, or requests, please leave them below.
