Satoru Iwata
On Saturday, July 11th, 2015, Satoru Iwata passed away due to a bile duct growth. Nintendo released a short statement stating their regret at having to inform everyone of the passing of Iwata. Iwata was the fourth President and CEO of Nintendo and has been with Nintendo since the year 2000. Before joining Nintendo Iwata was with HAL Laboratory where some of the games he worked on were Balloon Fight, EarthBound, and the Kirby games.

The 2015 Pokémon World Championship Series has been announced! For this tournament all main event matches will be standard Double Battles played on Pokémon Omega Ruby and/or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. Most Pokemon on the National Pokedex are permitted (including many Legendary Pokémon). Starting January 1, 2015 until the next update, the format, rules, and regulations for the 2015 Pokémon Video Game Play will be inducted for the 2015 Pokémon World Championships next August for 3 days in Boston, Massachusetts (USA).

Deoxys, A New Hero & Space Confirmed

Just one day after another CoroCoro leak from an anonymous 4chan user; the Pokemon youtube Channel decided to go ahead and release another trailer. This trailer confirms an ORAS event called the “Delta Episode,” a Deoxys battle, and a new mysterious ally to help fight Team Magma and Team Aqua. Project Pokemon, a site well-known for its hacking of previous Pokemon games for programs such as Pokesav and PokeGen, have apparently mined and released stats for all the currently known Mega Evolutions and Primal Reversions, on top of a brand new one not yet released to the public. As with any unofficial finding, there’s always a chance that these stats could indeed be inaccurate. CoroCoro leaked some of the info that the trailer summarizes a few days ago, but the trailer greatly expands upon what we can expect in these awesome new features. Although Mega Latios and Mega Latias may have been old news to many people, the Eon Flute and the PokeNav Plus are definitely new and look very ambitious. Hit the jump to see for yourself.

Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie revealed!

The Mega Evolution train doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, as we have two brand new additions, as revealed in the newly-released demo for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The demos, which are currently NOT playable in North America, feature both Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie. This brings our total number of generations represented by new evolutions up to five, including a Pokemon from every single gen except for the recent Generation VI. More mega evolutions are on the way! The latest Corocoro has revealed two more unlikely additions to the “mega family”, with Mega Pidgeot and Mega Beedrill being confirmed for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the upcoming 3DS remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire. Both Pokemon keep their original typing of Normal/Flying and Bug/Poison for Pidgeot and Beedrill respectively. Hit the jump for even more info!
