It’s summer time here in America and many people are going on vacation. A very popular and traditional travel destination is a certain place with lots of sand, heat and water. It’s time to hit the beach! The ocean has always been a large role in Pokémon games. According to Bulbapedia, “As of Generation VI, there are 124 Water-type Pokémon or 16.8% of all Pokémon (counting forms and Mega Evolutions that change typing as different Pokémon), making it the most common of the eighteen types.” Today I have some unique themes concerning the beach, hit the jump to enjoy!

One of the most unforgettable things about Pokémon are the battles. Not just any ordinary battles; battles with the all-mighty Pokémon of Legend! Unlike regular Pokémon encountered in the wild, there is only one of each Legendary Pokémon: one chance is all you get or they’re gone for good (most of the time). What’s also special about this is the unique music that plays for each one. It’s not as dramatic as it seems but Game Freak sure knows up to amp up an important battle with the soundtrack! Hit the jump for 10 notable Legendary Themes from all of the regions of Pokémon!

Olivia

music-wednesday

Hello Pokefans, I’d like to try to bring this segment back and post it as often as I can! We don’t have very much information on Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire so far but we can always work with what we have so far. In order to continue the Hoenn-hype, lets listen to some wonderful covers of our favorite Hoenn soundtracks by this week’s special youtuber: insaneintherainmusic. This music youtuber I came across today is amazing and this kid is a big Nintendo fan. He has almost 200 videos and almost 6000 subscribers, that’s awesome! Click the link to a Hoenn music playlist I put together out of all of insaneintherainmusic’s Ruby/Sapphire soundtrack covers! (Happy late Wednesday)

Here at Pokemon Dungeon we are still stunned and completely delighted about the announcement of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire! Without a doubt, these new 3DS&2DS titles are indeed remakes of Ruby and Sapphire (maybe Emerald?) for the coveted Gameboy Advanced. Not much is currently known about these new releases but CoroCoro will publish more information soon. All we can do now is speculate until GameFreak and Nintendo share more. The first thing that came to mind for me is: what starter will I choose again? I have personally played Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald multiple times and selected different Hoenn starters each file, but this time in Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, it will all be different. Hit the jump for some answers concerning your burning questions, also let us know in the poll below who you choose this November!

Which Hoenn starter will you choose!?

The Story of Mewtwo

Hachi

TCGO_1920x1200February 6th is Mewtwo’s Birthday. And despite all the birthday wishes it has received around the internet, its birthday is nothing to celebrate; its story is a grim one.

Most of the fanbase is most familiar with the Pokemon anime’s interpretation of Mewtwo’s story. The 150th Pokemon was the antagonist in the very first Pokemon Movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back. At the beginning of the Movie, we see Mewtwo gaining consciousnesses behind a glass tube. Dr. Fuji, the head scientist of the cloning project responsible for Mewtwo’s creation, explains to the Pokemon that it is a cloned specimen of a long extinct Mew. Quickly putting two and two together, Mewtwo realizes that it is no more than an experiment to its creators and destroys the lab, including everything and everyone in it.

What Was Your Very First Pokemon?

Hachi

firstpokemon2 No matter what generation we started playing the main series Pokemon games, we all had to decide what partner to start our Pokemon journey with. There is a lot to take into consideration when choosing a starter Pokemon besides just type preferences and looks. It can determine how easy or difficult your journey will be for the first few gyms. Some starters even have a secondary type added when they evolve, which brings with it new strengths and weaknesses to deal with. However, for most of us during our very first playthrough of Pokemon, none of that really mattered. The most important trait, regardless of strength or downfalls, was that we liked them.
