Staff Needed: Pokémon Dungeon Pokédex

Kybyrian

Hey guys, Kybyrian here. You haven’t seen any posts from me in a while, but I’ve taken over as the full acting Webmaster of Pokémon Dungeon in light David’s 2-year mission in Perú. This will be the first staff drive I’ve posted since then. Recently I’ve been working on getting our Pokedex code finalized so we can start pulling out pages. So far we’ve gotten the first few Pokemon done aside from movesets, which is why I’m posting today. We need staff members that are capable and willing to spend time coding out the movesets for the 649 Pokemon, and we’re looking for multiple people to get as much ground covered as possible. Hit the jump for what you need to know about the position and how to apply.

Say Goodbye to David!

Zenox

Hello everyone, I’m here with an update on the current lineup of the staff at Pokemon Dungeon. If you’ve been keeping up with us, you’ll know very well that David is a prominent figure here at Pokemon Dungeon. Not only that, he’s the current Webmaster and one of two owners of Pokemon Dungeon. This means he basically runs the site. However, David is leaving. I have been selected to tell you why, as I relate the most to his current situation.

Now, I don’t know if any of you remember, but back in the old days we used to make walkthroughs. When we made this site, we made it based on the idea that we’d have the best walkthroughs of any Pokemon fansite. However, we started to lag and suddenly no one was working on them. Behind the scenes, I’ve been working long and hard to try and completely redo how the walkthroughs look and function. Now that it’s over, I present to you the redone FireRed and LeafGreen Boulder Badge chapter!

Pokémon Dungeon Mailbag Episode 1

David

We are pleased to inform you that we finally have our first episode of our Video Mailbag here at Pokemon Dungeon! Our newest staff member, Eric, has gone ahead and taken user-submitted questions and answered them the best that he could. This is our first mailbag episode, so we are currently looking at finalizing our formatting and even the name. If you have a suggestion for the name of our mailbag, leave it in the comments.

Send your questions to [email protected] and we will pick some of the best questions to answer. The timestamps are below and there is a video embed inside. If you’d rather, you can watch over at YouTube.

Questions and Timestamps:

(1:19) – Do you believe Giovanni’s son has any other connections to team rocket?

(2:14) – Are you going to update Pokemon TCG news as well?

(2:35) – If you battled on Diamond/Pearl would you see Giratina’s origin form while holding the griseous orb from platinum version. Would Giratina’s ability be levitate or pressure?

(3:58) – What’s your thoughts on the new battle style and story for the new Pokemon game?

(5:27) – Have you seen or noticed in any other games that there tends to be at least one other Pokemon within each elite 4 that doesn’t follow the type they train?

(6:34) – Which type would you say is the worst and why?

Are you interested in contributing to Pokemon Dungeon’s building article feature? Yesterday Pokemon Dungeon had its first article, but we’re looking to build this part of the site just like we have over on Zelda Dungeon with its article feature. To do that we’ll need more people than just myself writing articles. Do you consider yourself a good writer? Do you have opinions you’d like to express about the Pokemon franchise, or think you could write something interesting if given a topic to work with? If you’re interested, register on our forums, then drop an application in our Article Center section.

Writing articles for the site is a great way to contribute and help the site, and it can also be a good way to get some exposure. Article are intended to go up on Fridays during prime viewing hours and receive a large amount of attention; the first article published on Pokemon Dungeon received large amounts of traffic. You can get recognized quite fast, especially if you do repeated articles and write frequently enough.

In case you didn’t notice, we have launched a new theme here at Pokemon Dungeon! This theme features some major navigation and header improvements along with several other improvements. This layout is bigger and better than ever before and I can’t wait to tell you more about it. Now, I must warn you now. As of the publishing of this post, the new theme is only available to all of our news pages. It will take me through the rest of the week to implement the theme throughout the rest of the site.

I must also warn you that this site takes advantage of HTML5 and CSS3 technologies and will not be supporting Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8. Those browsers are too old and vulnerable to be used and will not allow us to use the site to its fullest. If you have issues with Internet Explorer, I strongly recommend either upgrading to Internet Explorer 9, or switching to the latest versions of Firefox or Google Chrome. These two browsers will allow us to keep our site moving forward with new technologies and new abilities, so you should switch or upgrade.

With that out of the way, head inside the jump for more information on what this theme is all about!

Generation Pokemon LogoAt long last, we have our very own partnership established with another fansite. This partner is Generation Pokemon, another fansite dedicated to Pokemon news, guides, community and content. They, like us, are still in some of the early development stages of their site. However, through this partnership that we are still working out, we will be able to help each other out and allow our sites grow together. To find out more about this partnership, make the jump.

Site Updates and Staff Needed

David

Hey guys, this time, I decided to make a video to let you know what’s going on here at the site and what you can do to help. First, I apologize for some of the quality of the video, as it was taken on my webcam (guess that’s what I get for being a college student… maybe I’ll invest in a new camera in the future). Anyway, for a quick recap, head inside the post for more information.
