Pokemon X Walkthrough and Pokemon Y Walkthrough Iceberg Badge

Chapter 8: Iceberg Badge

v

8.1 Lumiose City

After collecting the 7th badge, our next stop is back at Lumiose City. You can make the long journey back, or simply use Fly to get back quickly.

You want to look for Lysandre’s Cafe, which is a red Cafe located between Magenta Plaza and Autumnal Avenue at the northwest portion of town. There is a Team Flare Grunt standing just outside. Enter the Cafe and speak with the two people to find they are actually Team Flare Grunts.

After defeating the two Grunts, you’ll learn the secret that there is a hidden door here in the Cafe. Walk to the north end of the room and examine the furniture to find there is a hidden door behind the wall. After saying the secret password, the door will be revealed, so head on through.

v

8.2 Lysandre Labs

“A top-secret laboratory hidden beneath the surface of Lumoise City”

Follow this dark corridor till you reach Lysandre, who wants to test your power. His Gyarados may cause a problem, seeing as how it has the fewest weaknesses in his team, but electric and rock attacks will work well against him.

130-Gyarados Gyarados Lv 49 Outrage, Aqua Tail
668-Pyroar Pyroar Lv 47 Hyper Voice, Fire Blast
Murkrow Lv 45 Aerial Ace

Lysandre will run off after you defeat him, challenging you to come after him. He also says one of the members of Team Flare has the elevator key, so now we need to battle our way through this area. Looking around you can see we have two different types of special panels. The first is the spin panels. These panels spin you in whatever arrow direction is on them, and you will not stop until you run into a wall. The second type of panels are warp panels. These are just like the ones in the Laverre City (Fairy) Gym, where each has a set location that panel goes to within the lab. Both of these types of panels are all over the lab.

At the moment, heading left is the only thing you can do. The first warp panel you come to takes you to the upper-left corner where scientist Aliana is waiting for you. This is the same scientist that was at the Kalos Power Plant, but she has become stronger since last time.

After defeating Aliana, you now have access to two warp panels. There is a yellow one, which takes you back to the beginning by the elevator, or there is the green panel to continue forward through the lab.

After taking the green panel, head upwards. You’ll use the spin panel to get spun to more of the upper left section of this floor, where you will encounter another Team Flare Grunt.

Head up into the door there, and inside you will encounter the “defenders of Kalos” in a small office. These masked heroes are looking for someone….”very tall,” with no other details to go by. Even though you can’t help them, they give you a few Revives to help you out.

Leave the office and use the spin panels to start heading down, and you will run across more Team Flare Grunts. Eventually you will come to the door in the left wall of the floor, which you will want to run into to heal your pokemon, get TM12 Taunt from a Team Flare member who mistakes you for one, and to grab another Revive.

Leave the room, and make your way up to the upper-right corner of the floor. You’ll run into one more Team Flare Grunt before you head into the door in the top wall that is holding the scientists Celosia and Bryony. Ground attacks are very good against all of Celosia’s Pokemon, and fighting attacks are good against both of Bryony’s Pokemon.

Once you’ve defeated both Celosia and Bryony, they divulge more information about their evil plans that involve Geosenge Town and the mysterious stones on Route 10. Leave this room and continue making your way around with the spin and warp panels to get to the door on the right wall of the floor. Also, don’t forget to use the warp panel in the uppermost-right of the floor to get to the top-middle office that contains a Rare Candy. Scientist Mable is in this last office, and she holds the Elevator Key we need. Fighting and Rock moves both work well against all of her Pokemon.

After getting the Elevator Key, return to the entrance of the area and use it on the Elevator to reach B2. Don’t forget on the way to the Elevator to use the warp panel in the lower-right so you can grab that lonely walled-in item that was taunting us every time we walked by it. After the cut-scene return to the elevator and head to B3.

It doesn’t matter which button you press, as the cut-scene will trigger regardless. Return to the elevator after the cut-scene and exit the area. Use a pokemon and fly on over to Geosenge Town.

8.4 Route 18

After defeating Lysandre, Team Flare, and capturing either Xerneas or Yveltal, fly back to Anistar City. Go to the right towards Route 18 and Professor Sycamore will call you on the Holo Caster to ask you to meet him at Couriway Town. Continue towards the route and go in between the workers and you’ll be at Route 18.

Required Moves: Cut and Rock Smash

On route 18 you will immediately see a non-battling worker, who says a little jingle about roads and walking. Slightly down you will see Youngster Jayden, and a cliff to jump off of. Go ahead and jump off of the cliff, where you will receive a hyper potion, then head back up to the path. Head right and you will see a bridge, with a cut plant right before it. Past the cut plant is a tree to get a Wacan berry, and a downslide railing that leads to a PP Up, where you can then just jump the cliff and head slightly down to climb the stairs, which puts you right past the bridge. On the bridge there is a pacing Battle Girl Justine, and there is a Hiker Orestes next to the right side of the bridge. In the house on the right side of the bridge you can have an Inverse Battle if you so desire, where Super-effective moves become Not Very-effective, and vise versa. The cave entrance right there is Terminus Cave, a slightly long cave, where in the bottom you cannot pass into the final area until you have beaten the Elite Four. Follow the tracks down and to the right, go up and you will see another cave entrance to Terminus Cave where you just pop in to grab TM31: Brick Break, or go down for a Max Ether. Go back to the left, and down is a sky battle with Sky Trainer Jeremy. Go back and head down the stairs near the bridge.

Hug the right and walk, with your dowsing machine out; you will find a Super Potion, and follow it until you reach a rock smash stone. Once the stone is smashed, make your way through to the top, where there is a pacing Black Belt Yanis and an X Defense. Run into this third entrance for Terminus Cave to grab a Dragon Scale in plain view, and a hidden Normal Gem that’s straight back. Hop the cliff next to the Terminus Cave and head down through the flowers (there is a hidden Honey in the top right of the first flower patch) where you will encounter Lass Sara. Keep heading down and you will run right into Couriway Town.

8.8 Snowbelle City

Head to the Pokemon Center first, so you can obtain a new o-power which is PP Restoring Power Lv. 1. There is a photo spot down and to the left from the Pokemon Center. Keep heading to the left, and you will find a hidden X Sp. Atk in front of a building. Inside that building is a Move Tutor that teaches the Ultimate Moves to the all of the starters. Head over to the left and up slightly, you will see a dark blue piece that goes down the side of the hill. Follow this down and you will find a Full Restore. Head up the stairs and make you way to the center of town, where the Gym Building is, and walk down the slight walkway to the left of the Gym where you can find a hidden Full Heal. The man in front of the Gym doors tells you to go to the Winding Woods, which is in the Lower-Left part of town.

Before we head to the Winding Woods (Route 20) we still have a few more things we can do. From the Move Tutors house, head up the path and cross the bridge. Enter the house you come to, where you can trade a Jigglypuff for a Bisharp. Head right across the bridge where you can find a hidden Icy Rock. This next house right by the Icy Rock has a gentlemen inside that wants to see a Pokemon that knows the move Mat Block. Head back to the Pokemon Center and head up the path. In the house on the left of the Abomasnow, you will find someone who teaches Keldeo or Meloetta a move, and someone who will just give you the TM08 Bulk Up.

Now we can make our way to the southwest part of town and enter Route 20.

First, head to the left and go through that entrance (1), where you will find a Kasib Berry and a Paralyze Heal in this relatively small area. Go back through (1), and you will see in the center of the grass patch a rock covered with moss, where you can level up a Eevee to evolve it into a Leafeon. Head down and go through that entrance (2) to the next area. Head down once again and go through (3) where you can find a Meadow Plate. Go back through (3) and head left through (4). Hug the bottom wall and go through (5) where you will encounter Poke Fan Roisin and you can find a hidden Antidote.

Head to the left, go through (8) on the left. You will need to cut the bush and go towards center of the flower patch to find a Protein, then head down to the bottom left to find a hidden Repeat Ball. During this, you will most likely run into Poke Fan Corey. Once you have cleared this area, head back through (8) and then go down into (9).

Poke Fan Corey 4,320
Dedenne Lv 54 Thunder, Discharge

Just head right through this area and go through (10). Now this new area can be very confusing, since a lot of the entrances connect to others multiple times. Head left first to (11), which will pop you out of (12) on the right. Head back through (12), where you can find a Mental Herb hidden in front of the tree. Go back through the entrance, and you will come out in a new area, where the entrance you just came out of is now (13). You can find a Tiny Mushroom, and then head down and go through (14). Head up the stairs and find a X Accuracy and a hidden Balm Mushroom. Go back down the stairs and head down, cut the bush you come to. Follow that path and go through (15). Face Hex Maniac Desdemona and grab TM53 Energy Ball. Then head back through (15).

Head back down the path through (14), then go through (16) on the left. You should now be able to head down and go through this last entrance, and you are now in Pokemon Village.

v

8.10 Pokemon Village

After making it through the Woods, you’ll reach the Pokemon Village. You’ll find the Gym leader of Snowbelle City here. After talking to him, he will return to the Pokemon Gym. There are mostly the same Pokemon here that were in Route 20, with the exception of Ditto. He has the ability to transform into any Pokemon, which makes him an ideal candidate for the Day Care Center where you can breed Pokemon.

Talk to the Pokemon here, you will recieve a Pretty Wing and a Chople Berry. Search the area, you will find a Pretty Wing, 2 x Honey, Full Restore, Max Ether, and a Pixie Plate. When you get to use Waterfall you can get TM29 Psychic. There is also another cave that a gentlemen will block until you beat the champion, and then you can try your hand against Mewtwo. Whenever you are done here, go ahead and Fly back to Snowbelle.
